The Lora Process

We examined every part of the customer experience when getting a new roof, from initial conversation to completion. And we made every part more customer-centered.

Understanding your roof

We’ll provide you with a high quality and comprehensive 61-point roof inspection, for free. Not all roof inspections are equal. Our inspectors have the right training, and invest the time required to fully inspect your roof—because a skilled and full inspection is the basis for making informed decisions.

Our inspector will examine your roof from the ground, at the roof edge, from above the roof, and from inside the attic (we wear shoe coverings in your home)—taking photos and writing notes throughout. The inspection process takes 30-60 minutes.

All findings and associated photos are documented in the Lora Roof Inspection Report. We’ll review this report with you, answering all your questions. This report is yours to keep. We do this according to Lora Ethic 2: we are here to educate, not persuade.

If your roof is at risk of leaking, or already leaking, we can help you evaluate a roof replacement. Or if you have more years of roof function left, we’ll tell you—and we hope you’ll consider our services in the future when a new roof is needed. We do this according to Lora Ethic 1: we will never try to sell our customers something they do not need.

Understanding our pricing

If you wish to evaluate roof replacement with Lora, we’ll walk you through selecting material type and color, add-ons you may consider (gutters, insulation, fascia, and more), and financing options. All of this will be documented in your Lora New Roof Proposal.

The Lora New Roof Proposal will also explain our price, which depends on details like your selected material, roof size, roof slope, the base layers we put in place, and more.

And to make your decision fully informed, we don’t just give you our price—we give you full-picture pricing.
  • Price comparison. We’ll provide you expected pricing from other local roofers, so you can compare our price to theirs.
  • Home value. We’ll estimate how much your home value should increase with your selected new roof.
  • Insurance premium. We’ll estimate how much your home insurance premium should decrease with your selected new roof.
  • Tax considerations. We’ll explain ways your new roof expense can reduce your taxes.
We provide this full-picture pricing according to Lora Ethic 2: we are here to educate, not persuade.

Installation of your new roof

We’ll provide you with a simple project timeline, and a single point of contact. And we’ll update you as project milestones approach and are completed. Once installation begins, work at your home typically completes in 1-3 days.

Installing a new roof is a major construction project, which naturally brings with it activity, noise, debris, and dust. In our focus on Lora Ethic 4: integrity wins, treat the customer’s home like our own, we do things other roofers don’t to minimize our impact on your home:
  • We’ll plan where trucks will park, where roofing materials will be staged, and where the dumpster will be situated (for disposal of the old roof). We’ll review this plan with you, and incorporate any special instructions!
  • We’ll cover your landscaping and other sensitive areas with plastic and tarps, to catch debris and dust. We’ll review this covering with you!
  • We’ll help you move or cover any delicate items in the attic, to protect them from debris and dust.
  • We’ll clean up the mess at the end of each work day, throughout the project.
  • We’ll do a large thorough cleaning once the project completes. We remove all plastic coverings and tarps, walk your property looking for wood and shingle scraps, and use a magnetic nail finder to sweep up any loose nails invisible to the eye. We really focus on leaving no nail behind—we aren’t perfect, but are always working to be.
  • Noise is an unavoidable part of construction. If you work from home, or have young children that sleep during the day, we’ll coordinate with you so you can plan around the noise! And if you have any special considerations, we’ll do our best to accommodate.

After your new roof completes

After completing your new roof, we’ll perform the Lora Leak Test—hosing down every part of your roof, and validating proper function at the roof surface, at the roof edge, and from inside the attic (we wear shoe coverings in your home). The Lora Leak Test proves your new roof works exactly as expected.

Documentation from this test goes into the Lora Roof Completion Report, which records:
  • Removal of the old roof.
  • Details of all structural wood your new roof sits on.
  • Details of all workmanship.
  • Results of the Lora Leak Test.
  • Final inspection by Building and Safety.
  • All warranty information.
  • How to keep in touch with us in the future.
Your new roof will last a lifetime. The Lora Roof Completion Report documents it all.
